American Council on Science and Health Agrees: That Article Was Stupid."

Tom_riddle

He was such a nice journalist before his nose fell off.

The American Council on Science and Health has published a response to the story that was the subject of Wednesday’s Stupid Article of the Day: Inhaling the Unknown.  In it, they thoroughly lambaste the author, Tom Riddington (who will forever be known to us here at the Squad as “He Who Shall Not Be Named”), for showing poor judgment, disseminating misleading information, and employing shameless scare tactics in the guise of poor medical advice.

“It would be sad indeed if British smokers — or Americans for that matter — took this writer’s alarmist tripe as authoritative and avoided or stopped using e-cigarettes to help them quit.”

Those words come courtesy of Dr. Gilbert Ross of the American Council on Science and Health, who adds that, since half of all long-time smokers will end up dead from the habit, “any method to help get them off their deadly addiction should be welcomed, not trashed based on nonsense and hyper-precaution.”

It’s a lot like what we said, only they were a lot more polite and professional-sounding about it.
