Reports are coming in to us right and left about fraudulent charges appearing over the last week on credit cards used to buy vaping products online.
While it’s not certain how people’s numbers have been compromised, all indications are that certain vendors, or their credit card service providers, have been breached on a fairly large scale. Just hours ago we found a $500 charge from Sears and another for a dating service against a debit card we’ve used to make vaping purchases from a number of e-cigarette vendors. Reports of similar charges have been coming in rapidly on public forums like ECF.
We highly recommend you take a look at the records for any cards you’ve been using at online e-cigarette vendors as soon as possible to confirm that all the purchases on your cards are ones you’ve made yourself. With most banks it’s a fairly simple matter to get a hold placed on the card, and the charges reversed, especially if you act on them quickly.
