Pink Spot: Raspberry Mojito

“A refreshing mojito with the lime, mint and a splash of raspberry.” – Pink Spot

PSV-RASM-2In our latest shipment from Pink Spot Vapor, we received a number of flavors in one of their sample packs.  These packs contain a choice of six different flavors in 6ml bottles for $29.95. At $.83/ml the price of the sampler is a bit steep, but a bit less expensive than buying the juices individually, which would run $.99/ml.  It’s also a chance to try out several different flavors in sizes small enough to avoid a major commitment.

We’d ordered from Pink Spot before, and enjoy several of their flavors, particularly their namesake Pink Spot juice. However, the Raspberry Mojito was one we hadn’t tried before. The combination of mint, lime and raspberry was intriguing to us, so we decided to give it a shot. We ordered it with 12mg/ml of nicotine; the order process does not allow further customization.

The first thing we noticed upon opening the bottle to let it steep a bit was the aroma, which bears a strong resemblance to cough medicine.  To be honest, this one was probably left steeping a bit longer than necessary because of that…  we had to work up the nerve to actually fill a tank with something that reminded us of Robitussin. Eventually, though, we managed to overcome the fear and get it loaded up and ready to vape.

Thankfully, the juice does not taste like cough medicine.  The bright reddish-pink juice (most Pink Spot juices obviously have coloring added) has a flavor which consists mostly, as the description implies, of lime and mint, with the lime maybe having a slight edge. We were actually a bit unprepared for the flavor.  The color of the juice seems to scream “raspberry,” but we had a difficult time actually discerning any raspberry flavor, except for a vague fruit sweetness that was difficult to pin down as any particular flavor. Perhaps if we had a raspberriless mojito juice to compare it with, the difference might be more apparent.

The juice also has a bit of the “fizzy” mouth feel of some other Pink Spot juices; we’ve found it to be a common characteristic of many of their juices. This fizziness on the inhale, along with the lime, is overcome on the exhale by a somewhat earthy mint flavor, which lingers on the tongue for while. It actually may have lingered a bit longer than we’d have liked it to, but we like to think that our breath remained minty fresh long after we finished vaping the juice. Unfortunately, there were no takers when we started asking people to smell our breath.

All in all, we wouldn’t call this a great juice — we really would have liked a bit more raspberry in our raspberry mojito.  However, it is certainly vapable, and the lime and mint do mix favorably. If you’re a fan of mojitos, or of Pink Spot, it just might be worth your time and money to try this one out for yourself.
