AÂ relative newcomer among juice vendors, San Francisco’s Velvet Cloud Vapor specializes in 100% VG juices.
The description is quite apt. We found Night Shift to be a quite flavorful, primarily chocolate vape, with strong hints of coffee. What really impressed us, though, was that so few vendors get coffee or chocolate right; most chocolate flavors seem to come out tasting like oversweetened chocolate sauce, while many coffee vapes just taste like used grounds. In this case, Velvet Cloud Vapor has done an outstanding job with both difficult flavors. The chocolate is mildly sweet and very authentic, and the coffee is smooth and rich. A bakery note ties the two together for a strikingly accurate feel of a real chocolate donut.
It should probably be noted that a couple of our testers detected a “burnt” taste to the coffee, and found it stronger than the chocolate, while most did not. Due to the variance in how people seem to taste this juice, we recommend (as we do, really, for any new juice) that you start with a small bottle when ordering for the first time. Velvet Cloud Vapor offers a 15ml size for $9.00, which should be more than sufficient for getting a good feel for this juice, without breaking the bank.
